At The Wellness Haus LLC, we understand what it’s like to live in rural Northern Michigan. Access to quality care isn’t always easy—sometimes it means long drives, missed work, or just feeling like help is out of reach. That’s why we opened our doors: to create a space where women feel seen and supported.
Right now, we offer elective ultrasound sessions in a warm, relaxing environment where parents can bond with their baby and enjoy a moment of joy and connection outside of the clinical setting.
But this is only the beginning.
Our vision has always been bigger: a place that celebrates motherhood and women’s wellness in all its forms. As we grow, we plan to expand into additional services that nurture, support, and empower the women in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a licensed medical professional or sonographer?
No. We are not licensed medical providers, and for the type of elective keepsake studio we are opening, a medical license is not required. Our sessions are strictly non-diagnostic and focused on bonding, keepsake images, and a comfortable experience. We do not provide medical evaluations or interpretations.
Is it legal to operate without a license in Michigan?
Yes. In Michigan, elective ultrasound studios may legally operate without a medical license as long as sessions remain non-diagnostic and clients sign a consent form acknowledging this. This model is common across many elective studios nationwide. We strictly follow all required guidelines.
Why aren’t you licensed?
Elective ultrasound studios in Michigan can safely and legally operate without a medical license as long as all scans remain strictly non-diagnostic. Because of this, we are choosing to open now while still planning to explore formal schooling in the future.
To ensure quality and safety, we have completed hands-on elective ultrasound training, including training through Probo Medical, which is widely used by elective studios.
Do clients have to sign anything?
Yes. All clients sign a clear, simple consent form stating that our scans are non-diagnostic and that any medical concerns or questions should be directed to their OB, midwife, or healthcare provider.
Can I bring guests?
Yes. The studio provides one dedicated guest chair, and additional guests are welcome. Keep in mind that seating is limited.
What happens if we can’t get good images?
If the baby’s position prevents us from obtaining quality images, we offer one complimentary rescan so you still have the opportunity to receive keepsake photos.
What should I expect from my images?
Image quality varies for every client. Factors such as baby position, movement, fluid levels, placenta placement, and maternal body composition all affect the final images. While we always strive for the best results, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Will I receive digital images or video?
We partner with Momitalk, which provides full-session recording and allows clients to save favorite images. Printed photos will also be included based on the selected package. If Momitalk is not available to the client, packages and pricing will be adjusted accordingly.
Do you offer keepsake products?
Yes. We will offer heartbeat bears and additional keepsake items as our studio continues to grow.
Can I ask medical questions during the session?
We cannot answer medical questions or provide medical advice. All medical concerns must be directed to your OB, midwife, or healthcare provider, as our services are strictly non-diagnostic.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
You may cancel or reschedule digitally. You may also call or email us, and we will handle it for you. We understand that schedules can change and aim to make adjustments as simple as possible.
